Describe the glass rather than counting windows alone

A small opening pane and a large fixed picture window are different tasks. Photograph each side of the property where practical and mention sliding doors, divided panes and upper-level glass. State whether you want inside, outside or both. If some rooms are excluded, name them. This allows a quote to follow the actual scope instead of relying on a window count that may leave out the most time-consuming areas.

Ask what is included around the pane

Check whether frames, tracks and flyscreens form part of the service. Ask how heavy dirt, adhesive or mineral marks would be assessed, and whether additional work needs approval. Existing damage should be noted before cleaning begins. A standard clean is not a guarantee of removing every permanent mark. Keeping optional work separate makes it easier to decide what matters now and what could be assessed at a later visit.

Compare access assumptions

Tell each provider about gates, stairs, restricted parking and glass above roofs or outdoor structures. Do not assume a lower price includes difficult access that has not been described. For a Page business or shared building, provide the manager’s access requirements and suitable working times. Photographs taken from ground level can help without creating a safety risk. Avoid climbing to inspect a window simply because it is difficult to describe.
